Developed an ETL Framework including SQL 2005 Integration Services (SSIS) and template packages and Reporting Services (SSRS) reports. Architect for the ETL and relational data warehouse components of a fixed income investor performance management reporting system. This solution used DTS to extract, transform and load information into SQL Server 2000 from Sybase, SQL Server, Access and Excel data sources. Siebel Analytics is the front office reporting tool.

Raymond James

Role: Architect, SME

Avanade teamed with MCS to deliver an Enterprise Data Warehouse for a large regional brokerage firm. The first subject areas include client assets, financial analyst performance and account statistics for over 6,000 financial advisors (both employee and broker). This solution used DTS to load Analysis Services cubes from a 1+ terabyte data warehouse and utilizes 64-bit Windows 2003 and SQL Server. One of Larry’s roles in this project was to build out the Microsoft Solutions Framework for Data warehouse projects.

Stream International

Larry provided database layer consulting, as part of MCS, for Stream International's Internet B2C site. Digital Data Warehouse

Role: Developer

Larry was initially the lead developer, as a consultant, for the client side components of Digital Equipment's Digital Data Warehouse product. Moved to the server side and redesigned the server component as a multi-threaded finite state machine. Larry completed his tenure as the project lead for this effort

DataRamp 1.0

Role: Project Lead / Architect

Project Lead and architect for Data Ramp, a multi-threaded ODBC Server concentrator that provided a universal client for all ODBC data sources. This product was the basis for PC DOC's acquisition of WSI in 1995.

Provide consulting services to organizations looking to maximum their investment in Microsoft's Data integration and Business Intelligence product suite. Larry presented at multiple Microsoft events including Tech-Ed 2007 where Larry presented on ETL Frameworks.

Avanade (2000-2006)

As BI Fellow my responsibilities included QA on large Global BI initiatives, BI Solution development and External communications. In this role I developed / contributed to the following BI assets: Delivery methodology, ETL Framework, CIO Dashboard, BI in FSI Dashboard, Customer Intimacy solution

Prior roles included BI Practice Director  where I was responsible for creating and extending Avanade's BI Practice from one region into a global presence.

During my tenure I represented Avanade on Microsoft's BI Partner Advisory Council.

Microsoft (1995-2000)

As a Solutions Specialist, Larry divided his time between evangelism, architecture and pre-sales activities. Larry worked with many NE based companies to scale SQL Server for their web sites. During this time, Larry was part of the popular "Bob and Larry" developer series.

Larry started as a senior consultant for Microsoft Consulting Services focused on SQL Server engagements.

Larry was also the co-author of two SQL Server publications during this period; Data warehousing with SQL Server 7.0 and SQL Server lessons from the field.

Working Set Inc. (1986-1995)

Larry was a principal at Working Set, a boutique consulting firm with a client list that included Microsoft, Lotus, Powersoft, Computer Associates, Manufacturers Hanover Trust and Goldman Sachs. During his tenure, Larry was a founding member of the ODBC 1.0 standard, presented at Microsoft's Professional Developer Conference and was the architect/developer of DataRamp 1.0, an ODBC server/concentrator that was the basis of Working Set's acquisition by PC Docs in 1986.

Digital Equipment Corp (1980-1986)

Larry was a principal engineer at DEC and during his tenure contributed to the following products: VTX 1.1, Teamdata 1.0, TDMS 1.0 and 1.1.
